The Parish and Family Life Ministry is at the heart of the social and community-based activities of our Parish. Striving always to bring a sense of warmth, belonging, and togetherness, this ministry serves various needs within the Parish including providing meals for newborn families, providing funeral repasts for parishioners who have lost loved ones, hosting annual fundraisers, celebrating various occasions as a Parish, and helping our young parishioners bake cookies to be included in the Holiday baskets provided by the Outreach Ministry, just to name a few!
We are better as a community, and with your involvement, our community becomes better!
Please consider helping with the following Parish activities.
Funeral Repast - For 20 years, this ministry has provided a complimentary Repast (reception meal) for the family and funeral attendees of any parishioner or family member that has passed away. Volunteers set up and break down Corbaley Hall for the reception, and help with food preparation, service, and clean up. Parishioners are contacted to donate and provide the dishes served at the repast. On occasion, the repast is provided at the family's home, and volunteers set up the meal to be enjoyed when the family returns from the funeral. Volunteers are needed for every aspect of this very important ministry. Contact: Carolyn Caldwell.
Mary's Table - This ministry was established to help individuals who are very ill, recovering from surgery, or facing extreme hardship. Meals are coordinated to be provided to these individuals. Casserole pans are made available to anyone who wants to prepare a meal and drop it off at Corbaley Hall where it will either be frozen or distributed according to need. Volunteers are needed to be placed on the call list for immediate need situations. Contact: Carolyn Caldwell
Mother's Helping Hands - This ministry provides meals for parishioner families who are welcoming a new child into their homes. Six meals are provided for each family. After a family received a new child into their family and contacts the parish office, they are contacted by the ministry coordinator to assess family size, allergies, and food preferences. Volunteers are needed to assist with meal preparation. Contact: Gretchen Wichlinski, m.g.wichlinski@gmail.com
Buddy Check - We are connected to one another in this parish community we have formed. This ministry was recently created to check in on those who live alone and/or may be mourning the loss of a loved one, just to provide a connection and assurance that needs are assessed and assistance can be offered. Volunteers are needed who are willing to make regular phone calls to one or more persons as the need arises. Contact: Carolyn Caldwell
Drivers for Riders - This newly formed ministry provides rides for parishioners who are receiving medical treatments and whose caretakers are unavailable on occasion to provide the needed transportation and companionship. Volunteers are needed to be placed on a call list who are willing to drive and accompany a parishioner to an occasional medical appointment. Contact: Kathy Hill in the main office
