When you Pray

You know that prayer is important but still find it challenging. Perhaps it’s hard to find time, or you’re unsure what to do when you pray. Or maybe you feel discouraged by your weaknesses and your inability to overcome them. If you have any of these feelings, you are not alone. Many of the saints struggled in prayer. They were like us. But each time they fell, they got up again and learned to rely more on God’s grace. What God did in the lives of countless saints; he wants to do in the lives of ordinary people like us. And that’s what this study is about: the journey of prayer God wants to take us on.

Matthew

The book of Matthew brings the history of Christ to life. We see Jesus as the awaited Messiah who fulfills the promises and prophecies of the Old Testament, establishes the New Law, and inaugurates the kingdom of heaven. Matthew: The King and His Kingdom, a twenty-four-part Bible study, explores how Jesus is challenging and empowering us to a new level of holiness and shows how we must be thoroughly immersed in the kingdom of heaven on earth, the Church, to live it.
OMOS/St. Peter the Apostle Parish will begin Matthew: The King and His Kingdom on Sept. 24 at 9:30-11am or 6:30-8pm. Participants will meet every week to view an engaging video presentation followed by a time of lively group discussion and fellowship.

DVD Study (Advent)

Rejoice

One way our parish is seeking to prepare for Jesus’ birth and experience true transformation in this powerful season is by engaging in a new program from Ascension. This program is Rejoice! An Advent Pilgrimage into the Heart of Scripture, Year B. This year, we will explore the Sunday Mass readings through daily reflections, prayers, and journaling, with weekly videos presented by Fr. Mark Toups and his friends Sr. Josephine Garrette and Fr. Josh Johnson.
